Membership
Join the association
Membership is held by the household, not the individual — which is how the community actually works.
What membership brings
Four things, and the people behind them
The invitations
Durga Puja, Bihu, Bhogjora and Fun Habba — plus the get-togethers and picnics that are members-only and never posted publicly.
URULI, twice a year
The association's magazine, in English, Assamese and Kannada.
The classes
Assamese language, dance and cooking for your children and for you, run by members, free to members.
A directory of people who have been here longer
Schools, hospitals, landlords, lawyers, the good fish shop. The practical knowledge of a community that has already worked it out.
What it costs
The fee is set by the committee
Membership fees are confirmed each year by the general body. Send your application and the membership secretary will come back with the current fee and how to pay it.
Nothing is charged on this page. Do not send money to anyone who asks for it in AAB's name without a reply from assamassociationblr@gmail.com.
Application
Tell us who is joining
It takes about three minutes. Only the first three fields are required — everything else helps the association know who is in the room.
